Vortex Edge Instructor Pete Schreier

Pete Schreier

Pete has previously served in both law enforcement, as a deputy sheriff, and in the military - completing tours in both Kosovo and Iraq as an infantryman with the US Army's 10th Mountain Division.

Pete first learned to shoot in the Boy Scouts, and as an early adopter of the pistol-mounted optic, is a highly-competitive USPSA shooter in the carry optics division.

Vortex Edge Instructor Justin Lipska

Justin Lipska

Justin is a 10-year military veteran who served eight years with 10th Special Forces Group, serving as a Weapons Sergeant on a SFOD-A team where he conducted a wide variety of duties including weapons training, unconventional warfare, direct action, special reconnaissance and foreign internal defense missions.

Justin also served as both a Special Forces sniper, and sniper instructor conducting training in advanced long-range marksmanship and sniper operations for 10th SFG(A). Justin has multiple deployments to Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan.

Vortex Edge Instructor Chris Urrutia

Chris Urrutia

Chris has served in both military and law enforcement for a combined 17 years, during which he deployed with 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of the Global War on Terror. Chris also served as a patrol officer and SWAT Sniper during his time with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina.

Chris started shooting after bootcamp, and has invested heavily in his own skillset development during his career. Always a student, Chris continues to seek out training to develop himself as both a shooter and instructor.

Brennan Brennecke

Brennan’s unique perspective on shooting is built around his training and experience in defensive and competitive shooting as a private citizen. He is passionate about helping others learn and apply the fundamentals at any skill level, whether you carry a gun for defense of yourself or your loved ones, or for recreational and competitive shooting.

Brennan is also a staunch advocate of the shooting sports and believes that surrounding yourself with the best shooters in the world has a unique way of pushing you to do your best. He has been shooting USPSA since January of 2020 and is an avid competitor in the Carry Optics Division.

Corey Eliason

Corey thoroughly enjoys working with people of all shooting experience and training backgrounds to help them develop a more fundamentally sound knowledge of their firearm and how to use it to its maximum potential. He loves the opportunity to be a part of anyone’s development and strives to shine a positive light on the firearms industry a whole with the experience he helps provide.

Corey served a total of 15 years between military and security contractor operations overseas. He spent four years as a Marine Corps Scout Sniper with the 3rd Battalion 1st Marines completing two deployments to Iraq.

Mike Griffin

Mike instructs simply to help people of all backgrounds and professions become more capable with a firearm so they can enjoy their favorite pastime more or perform their duties in their job better and more confidently. He seizes the opportunity to connect to students on a personal level, tailor the training towards their individual needs, and inject a little fun to top it all off.

Mike worked as a security contractor in support of US interests in Iraq, and currently works as a Tactical Paramedic for a local law enforcement agency in addition to his role as an instructor at Vortex Edge.. When he manages to find free time, he competes in USPSA matches in the Carry Optics division.
